The “pete” area was once the commercial hub of the old medieval city. In this walk, we explore the narrow lanes of the oldest parts of modern Bangalore and see its thriving markets.
This walking tour will tell the story of Bengaluru from its founding to modern times. In the pete we’ll explore the narrow streets named for various trades such as akkipete (rice street) or balepete (bangle street), see century-old temples, a historic fort, do some shopping, and taste some traditional South Indian food.
